![]() Intuity Voice Mail InstructionsVoice Mail Overview The University of Oregon currently uses an Intuity Voice Mail System. If you have any questions or problems, please contact your Departmental Coordinator or Telecommunications Services at 346-3198. Voice Mail is supported by two Intuity computers which provide for voice mail boxes, bulletin boards and automated attendants. Access to these computers is via phone line using a touch-tone set (the pulse tone may not provide the necessary tones for the computers to respond) and you can dial into them 24 hours per day from any place that offers phone services, including cell phones. Voice mail boxes provides the caller with a recorded message (preferably from the user) and records a message from the caller to the user. Users are able to create, edit, send and receive voice messages, interacting with other in-system voice mail users across the entire OUS system. Should the caller dial 0, they will be sent to a default line which should be attended by a Live attendant. Bulletin boards allow callers to listen to a departmental or user recorded message, but the caller can not leave a message. In the recorded message there should be information directing the caller to a line for further information or a user who can either take a message of help them. Should the caller dial 0, they will be sent to a default line which should be attended by a Live attendant. Automated Attendants are voice mail attendants built and maintained by the Telecommunications Dept. which provide callers with a list of choices for the caller to access, including phone lines of live "users", voice mail boxes, bulletin boards, etc. The system will default to another specified extension to accommodate rotary phone users or callers to dial 0, and that default SHOULD BE A LIVE ATTENDANT. Mail boxes usually contain the following: Incoming mail box with messages which can be:
Outgoing mail box with addressed mail or reference copies.
Permanent Storage. Retention has no expiration.
All voice mail boxes are sized in time. The average size has approximately ten minutes of storage area, messages retained over 8 working days will be automatically deleted by the voice mail system.
The voice mail login procedure must be completed correctly each time voice mail is accessed. If the login procedure is not completed correctly, the system will issue the message "subscriber information incorrect". After three attempts, the system locks the account. If this happens, your departmental coordinator will need to contact Telecommunications Services at 346-3198 to have the mail box password reset to 2580
