Instructions for Telecommunications Order Forms

Form 5 -- Call Pick Up Groups

A Call Pick Up Group will generally include those users within "ear shot" of each other as each group enables a user to answer another user's phone within their group from their own set by simply pressing *7 or a programmed "CPU" button on a digital telephone.

There are four different options on this form.

Add an Entire New Pick Up Group

  • Field 1 -- Action Code: A = Add, this is entered for you.
  • Field 2 -- New Pick Up Group #: this will be assigned by Telecommunications Services and someone will notify you of the new group number.
  • Field 3 -- Extensions Assigned: Include all the extensions you wish to be part of this new group. Please note that an extension can only be assigned to ONE CPU Group.

To Add a New Member(s) to an Existing Group

  • Field 1 -- Action Code: A = Add, this is entered for you.
  • Field 2 -- Existing Pick Up Group #: You should have this number in your records. If you can not find it, please call the Telecom Help Desk, 346-NETS.
  • Field 3 -- Extensions Assigned: List the extension(s) you would like to have added to this existing group.

To Delete an Entire Existing Pick Up Group

  • Field 1 -- Action Code: D = Delete, this is entered for you.
  • Field 2 -- Existing Pick Up Group Number: You should have this number in your records. If you can not find it, please call the Telecom Help Desk, 346-NETS.
  • Field 3 -- Extension Assignments: All of the extension numbers that are in the given group.

To Delete a Member(s) from an Existing Pick Up Group

  • Field 1 -- Action Code: D = Delete, this is entered for you.
  • Field 2 -- Existing Pick Up Group Number: You should have this number in your records. If you can not find it, please call the Telecom Help Desk, 346-NETS.
  • Field 3 -- Extension Assignments: List only those extension numbers that are to be removed from the given group.
