Using Avaya Telephone Features
Call Hold
This feature allows a telephone user to:
- Hold incoming, outgoing, or inter-office calls.
- Free the same extension number to originate another call, activate a feature, or return to a previously held call.
- Allows a user to alternate between calls, holding one while being connected to the other.
- Placed an existing call on hold to prevent the held party from over hearing other discussions.
SINGLE LINE SET USERS
Placing Caller on Hold
- Press FLASH/RECALL button
- Listen for Recall Tone
- Press *4, Listen for Dial Tone,
- Lay handset down (DO NOT HANG UP)
Return to Held Call
- Hang up handset,
- Phone will ring,
- Answer it and resume conversation.
Hold & Accept Another Call
- Press FLASH/RECALL button
- Listen for Recall Dial Tone,
- Press *4, Listen for Dial Tone,
- Dial third party, third party will be on the line and first party will be on hold.
Switch Between Calls
- Press FLASH/RECALL button
- Listen for Recall Dial Tone,
- Press *4, Listen for Dial Tone,
- Next party will be on line.
DIGITAL SET USERS
To Hold a Call
- While connected to a call appearance, press the HOLD button
- Associated button light blinks indicating call is on hold
- Hang up or press another line button
To Return to a Held Call
Press the line button of the associated line that is on HOLD.
On Single line phones: FLASH, RECALL, TAP, & R all indicate the same button. Any single line set without this button will have to use the Switchhook button instead.
